Piping Gel - Vegan
A staple of most cake decorators, it's always handy to have the recipe as not only is it easy to make, but when you run out of your store bought jar, you have back up available!
I would recommend the regular recipe, but this one is great for vegans etc.
1/4 cup cold water
1/4 cup of pure corn starch (read the packet!)
1/2 cup light corn syrup (or glucose)
Optional extra's - flavouring and gel colours
Place water and cornstarch into a saucepan. Whisk until smooth.
Add in the corn syrup (or glucose) and whisk until smooth
Heat gently and continue to stir until thickened.
Make sure it's cooled before adding flavours or colours
If it's too think, add a little more water.
